Achievement of ecologically, socially, economically and culturally sustainable sanitation and nutrient cycle everywhere. The Global Dry Toilet Association of Finland is the best known expert organisation promoting ecological sanitation and DT technology in the country.
Mission The mission of the Association is to provide information, education and advice on dry toilets and the nutrient cycle (DT technology). The Association operates both in Finland and abroad, and the two modes of activity support each other. Ecological sanitation and a closed nutrient cycle ensure accessibility to safe, clean water and food supplies especially in developing areas.
Values The activities of the Global Dry Toilet Association of Finland are based on the following values:
- Human rights based approach (HRBA) – Every individual has an equal right to clean drinking water and appropriate sanitation.
- Operations based on ecologically, economically, socially and culturally sustainable development – In all activities, the principles of sustainable development are respected.
- Safety and respect towards the laws of nature – Nutrients return sagely and in an environmentally friendly way to the cycle of life.
- Openness and cooperation – Transparency and fairness are important aspects of the Association’s working culture. Cooperation and networks are resources for the Association.
